Well his birthday was so great he slept almost the whole night through except for one sweaty segment around 3:30. Post breakfast he has now slept anther hour and a half. Need to wake him for the dressing change before the pre-meds wear off, but I hate to wake him!! I have gone in there every half hour since 8 and he is gone, gone, gone.

Apparently he overdid it yesterday. We managed to get though all the morning stuff by 2 (my first solo dressing change!!) and after all those acrobatics, a couple, few loads of laundry, a couple of meals, and a few miles worth of up and down the stairs, I got my first taste of the near future... Thankfully Chuck came by around then and they talked and talked, then walked and walked. We had tea and birthday carrot cupcakes and birthday blackberry pie (thanks Christine and Chuck!) around 4. Then I slipped off to NAP while they talked some more and Chuck did some plumbing for us -- a new hand held shower head downstairs for Mr Glenn and a new bar sink faucet for me. Actually, he also put a thingy on that faucet so we could run a hose outside from it for warm water. Glenn has this idea that he wants to do the dressing changes outside. John may be here today to set up an outdoor exercise "chamber" safe from bugs and sun, where G can set up his recumbent stationary bike and perhaps an elevated table where we can do the dressing changes (with warm water!) and preserve my middle-aged back.

Glenn slept way in. Hooray -- a real night's sleep. His wounds look much improved today as well. Back to San Jose tomorrow for PT and Friday for outpatient clinic. Will likely be out of touch a couple of days. Things are are on the upswing and your support has been so vital. Thank you. Glenn's chatting it up on the phone with Debra and Michael... maybe he'll post tonight?
