Well I really do think tomorrow, Monday August 2nd, is THE day. I will go in the morning again and participate in the dressing change. Have had two lessons--today and yesterday. He has been through at least two, maybe three sessions without iv meds. Great instruction from caring folks who obviously hold Glenn dear.
It'll be a big day for both of us. Hope to be able to slip out before rush hour... We shall see.
Don't know much more about rehab and check-ups and all that yet. Imagine that will be delineated tomorrow. We are both excited and apprehensive too; and Glenn will miss the wonderful people who literally saved his life.
Onward though is where we want to go, so here we come!! First stop, big ol' nap...

I feel kind of honored to be the Glen's final visitor. I saw him last night (8/1) about 7 and he looked more like himself than any other of my visits. No more IV or leg splints. He said he walked 1/2 mile earlier in the day with Gary, Tom & Elie. He even went outdoors to breathe real air! There's a sense of pride and accomplishment in Glen, and just to prove it he got up off the bed and did a little 2-step boogie on his own (no walker) then shook my hand, standing like a man.
I hope everything goes smoothly for this next phase, and that it will help accelerate his healing even more. There's nothing like being back in your own nest after such a grueling ordeal.
Lot's of Love,
Raf
ps: don't forget about that temporary handicap parking sticker!

HBD, honey. Thinking good birthday thoughts. Let us know when it's good to visit or if there's anything in the world we can do to help out.

We're so glad to hear this news! We'll be praying for a safe and comfortable move back home. You're so strong and encouraging to all those around you Glenn. Keep hanging in there man!
