New Beginnings

Greetings,

It has been a long time since last posting.  Fully 7 months have gone by and much has been going on with new beginnings in several phases of life.  Definitely out of the convalescence phase now.  Now back to good occupational projects and pursuing some different ways in that direction; but with the use of my trade skills as the first driving impetus to make that happen.  It is indeed a new challenge.

Mostly for meeting the income and expenses it has been doing home renovations or maintenance improvements for people I know or get referred to.  The Oakland Museum also continues to be an annual client to sustain the interactive educational exhibit there.  There is a certain relief in that community and economy too.

During the past period my body has gained back a familiar stamina and I hope to improve that to an optimum in this new year 2013.  The legs scars have mostly stabilized and are more pliable than last description.  The financial thing is passing as well.  I am grateful for all the support from the benefit as that definitely kept the wolves at bay in the beginning.  Just this past week I managed a final negotiation with the helicopter ambulance service for a final settlement on what I believe to be the last outstanding bill for this whole injury event.

Aside from a myriad of construction type projects; I have been writing more and compiling for a relative anthology of my personal style of writing, (limericks/ poetry/ rants and sonnets of sorts).
Eventually I'll let some of those out of the bag and into the ethos.  I was amazed and rewarded that one has been sold at an art show in a framed format.  It was engraved in a printed font all my own free hand on wood with a laminate trimmer.  I just might try that again.  Actually the larger outreach is my greater goal as I am actually getting a good body of varied work together.  Refining those moments of inspiration is the less anticipated part of all that process.  Needs more development time.

There is also different ideas that have been on the back burner that also involve both production work for public and private efforts.  I still intend to make a move on supporting others afflicted as myself with the non profit concept of Burned Man.org.  I trust to pursue that with some of my energy this year as well.  Then there is some practical considerations for writing skills for either content on web or technically in description or even storytelling.  Not to mention those great novel and script ideas.

There is more travel planned for this year.  Some is unknown and others planned.  I'll report on those as they become concrete beyond the regional bay area in a future blog entry.  So far southern Africa is a certain thing for end of May to visit my brother in Swaziland and visit two wild animal parks in the hopes of seeing the "big five" there and many other herds, critters and species of birds.  As well as see the cultural sights, people and landscape.  It is a chance I may not have again so I'm going.  Also there is a trip planned to Wisconsin in August to celebrate my mother's 90th!  So, I am going to that too.   I trust that will be a bit protracted as well as there is always things to do at that property and many friends to see in the Midwest environs.  More on all that as it develops.

This is enough teaser for me to enter on this now.  Thanks for checking in.  As sitting at a terminal becomes more timely and accessible and more common for me; certainly my frequency of entries may increase again.  This is a new beginning with more focus on communication again as the healing/ nurturing chapter moves to a strengthening tenor.
Now I just have to catch up to my imagination again.
That has always been a challenge that I enjoyed.  Back to life.  Seems shorter but, fuller somehow.

Cheers to all, thanks for reading and stay in touch.
